Rattan and Dark Wood Furniture Beautiful in the Tropics
We're just back from the Caribbean where we attended a family wedding. During the trip, we had a chance to experience firsthand what creating a beautiful indoor environment with great furniture is all about. First off, a comment about the use of color in Caribbean furniture and architecture. Just as in many places in Mexico, in St. Lucia we found bright colors… refreshing, vibrant, spectacular! At nearly every bend in the road we were met with sweet surprises … houses and furnishings painted in Beach Cottage style – white, turquoise, lime green, you name it. Seeing that made us so proud of our very own Gringo Furniture Mexican Cottage collection. A perfect way of bringing the fun and allure of the tropics into your Mexican home.
The sweet surprises continued when we stepped into a resort beautifully decorated in rattan, dark woods, wrought iron and slipcover sofas … the combination was so perfect and the space so ample, using arches to draw the eye and soothe, relax … all of course complemented by lush green plants. We were happy to see dark rattan high back chairs used as desk chairs. Dark chocolate tables alongside light or medium-colored rattan. Striped or flowery upholstered sofas, some firm, some sink-in comfortable … all of it blending together to maximize comfort, coolness … to create a beautiful indoor/outdoor environment. We wanted to be sure to capture some of those ideas for you and we did. We are sharing some images here as a way to get your imagination going and to help inspire your Mexican home décor.
